Chelsea set to offer Emerson palmieri a new deal worth 4.5m a year
Chelsea are reportedly set to offer Emerson a new contract after the defender's impressive start to the season.
The Brazilian-born Italy international has emerged as Frank Lampard's first choice left-back and started all of the Blues'Premier League games so far this season.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Emerson will be handed a pay raise, which will see his wages rise from £3.5 million to £4.5m plus performance related bonuses.
Emerson's current deal expires in 2022, but the Blues are also keen to extend his deal by a further year and secure his long term future at Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old joined the club from Roma in January 2018 for £18 million but only became a regular in the first team towards the end of last season.
Emerson starred in the Europa League final as Chelsea beat Arsenal 4-1 in Baku and he carried his good form into pre-season following Lampard's arrival.
Emerson has made five appearances so far this season and played for Italy in their 3-1 victory over Armenia on Thursday.
