Mason mount on his debut goal: " I have no clue how it happened"

Mount: I couldn't remember my first Chelsea goa

As home Premier League debuts go, it didn't get much better for Mason Mount than scoring the opening goal, especially for an Academy graduate who has been atChelsea from the Under-9s level, but his defining moment went by in a blur.
Scoring after only seven minutes against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge, it was a dream start for Mount, but the 20-year-old admits he struggles to remember it as the emotion of the moment took over him.
"After the game, I remember thinking about the goal, not having a clue what happened, everything just left my head," said Mount. "I didn't have any memory of what happened."
It only took his second Premier League appearance to get off the mark for Chelsea but Mount sees his goal as reward for the hard work and dedication he has shown for over half of his young life to rise through the Blues' Academy.
To recognise his journey through the ranks at Chelsea, Mount received his Premier League Debut Ball from head coach Frank Lampard.
These are given to all homegrown debutants in the competition and it will remind Mount of the feelings that eventually came to him after his goal.
"The passion, the fire, the desire, wanting to score, the emotion going through it, I can't describe," said Mount.
"Having my family there, all my friends and family, it obviously meant so much to me, and to the Academy as well, so it's a massive moment."
