Mason Mount will not face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The 20-year-old limped out of Tuesday's defeat to Valencia in the early stages with an ankle problem having come off worst in a challenge with Francis Coquelin.
But sources have told Goal that the England international does not face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, though he is doubtful for Sunday's clash with Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Mount was back at Chelsea's Cobham training ground on Wednesday and worked in the pool as he looks to make a swift return to full fitness.
It will come as a relief to Frank Lampard that he will not be without Mount for a substantial period, with the youngster playing a key role for the new Blues boss so far this season.
Having signed a new five-year contract during pre-season, the former Derby County loanee has started each of the club's five league matches so far this term, scoring three goals.
He has, along with Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, been used as a beacon for Chelsea's academy as Lampard looks to give young players a chance while the club is banned from making new signings.
Pedro, who replaced Mount against Valencia, and Christian Pulisic are set to fight it out for the chance to join Willian and Abraham in attack should Mount miss the Liverpool clash
Mount joins a host of Chelsea players who are nursing minor injuries, with Antonio Rudiger (groin) and Emerson Palmieri (muscle strain) both also missing the loss to Spanish opposition.
N'Golo Kante was also absent as he continues to recover from an ankle injury that has kept him out for the best part of a month, though Chelsea are hoping he will be fit to play some part on Sunday.
