In a late Saturday premier league kick-off, the blues saw off a combative Burnley side in an entertaining premier league game. So what did we learn?
1) Pulisic scores "perfect" hat-trick: The American was in the starting XI for Chelsea against the clarets for the first time since August 31 and hey, he absolutely destroyed Burnley with a terrific Hat-trick. First, he latched on a loose ball before shifting the ball into his left foot and firing low across pope into the bottom corner for his first Chelsea goal and minutes before half time he buried a rightfooted effort off Ben mee and into the near post. He remarkably completed his hattrick powering in a header from the line of the six yard box.
2) A Bad Day for Ashley Barnes: The big forward will be absolutely gutted for missing an header from six yards out before Pulisic went on to score Chelsea's second goal. He hit a shot that bounced wide on the goal and as the game progressed, he cut a more frustrated figure until Vydra came on for him. Had he taken his chances, Maybe the game could have gone more close.
3) Plenty of Options for Lampard: The blues have got plenty of options in the wide areas and in such impeccable form. Pulisic started and got an hattrick, Willian got a goal and assist, CHO came on and looked to have got a penalty but it was overturned and there is a certain Pedro who is sitting on the bench and Loftus-cheek who isn't far off. Frank Lampard would hope to keep his wide men grounded and good to go.
4) Fantastic game of Football to Watch: The game was energetic, Aggressive, combative and entertaining to watch. In as much as the blues won 4-2, but it could have gone either way. Burnley gave the west Londoners a good game and what more, it was a game with a lot of chances with both teams having more than 20 between them.
It was a seventh win on the bounce for Frank Lampard and Chelsea ahead of a Carabao cup tie against Manchester United to come on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.
