Frank Lampard believes he has had a tough beginning as the blues boss after losing Eden Hazard and being hit with a transfer ban.
“We couldn’t control the ban,” the Blues boss told reporters.
“We lost the best player in the Premier League in Hazard. We are trying to improve on the training pitch. We have shown we can get into fourth and now we have to kick on.”
Lampard says he doesn't have any issues with kepa arrizabalaga after the spaniard has lost his place to Caballero in the last four games
My relationship is fine,” Lampard said of the Kepa speculation.
“I can’t keep every player happy. But the professionalism is there from him. Every player is in control of their own decision. Caballero is training well and performing well. I will decide as we go.
“I have read a lot of false articles of guessing players. All I am focusing on is game by game. Then there are decisions for the club.”
Lampard told reporters when offering a fitness update: “Pulisic is injured. Kante injured, Abraham injured. We are trying to find a solution with Tammy. It’s the same.
“At the moment he is not doing anything active for a couple of days. But we don’t know the length.”
Lampard added on the blues 21-year-old Midfielder Christian Pulisic who has an adductor injury: “It has been longer. It was to be a lot less. But I had a similar injury when I was a player, so I can sympathise. I know it can be a delicate injury.
“The way he was playing, the hot patch, the ability to go past players.”
One man who is back in contention after spending a long time out of action is Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Lampard said of the highly-rated midfielder, who is looking for his first competitive minutes of the season:
“Ruben is in the squad again. It would mean a lot for him. It is a lonely place to be injured. With the ability that he has got he is one of the most exciting English midfield players.”
