Cech: “Nobody is giving up on Kepa”

Chelsea Legend Petr Cech is not giving up on Kepa Arrizabalaga and believes he can overcome last season’s wobble to be an important player for the team.

Kepa was dropped by Manager Frank Lampard on numerous occasions last season and he even lost his place to Willy Caballero in the last FA Cup Final.

Despite the sour turn of events, Chelsea’s Technical and Performance Adviser believes Chelsea have not lost all hope on him yet but admits the club are in the market for another Goalkeeper.

"Kepa struggled last season, that is unquestionable,"

"But the club invested in him and gave him a long-term contract because they believe he has the qualities and attributes to be successful.

"Additions will be made to the squad, perhaps even in goal, and this is what is being discussed now.

"But nobody is giving up on Kepa and we all hope he has a great future."

Cech also confirmed that there would departures and movements within the club before the Summer Transfer window closes

"The issue of reinforcements is now very much alive,"

"The transfer window is until the end of October this year so there will be a lot of changes after the league begins.

"And the question is how much the coronavirus pandemic will affect everything."
